Private Charter Between Nassau and Havana.

About 50 minutes in the Lear 60 between Lynden Pindling International (MYNN) and José Martí International (MUHA) in Havana. Nassau ↔ Havana is one of the more specialized Caribbean routes — Bahamian-flagged aircraft like ours can operate into Cuba directly, where U.S.-flagged operators are restricted by the embargo. Trips require permission and Cuban handling-agent coordination, which we arrange.

Why this route

Cuba is one of the few Caribbean destinations where a Bahamian operator has a structural advantage. The U.S. embargo against Cuba restricts U.S.-flagged aircraft from operating there for most non-government purposes. TIA, as a Bahamian-flagged Part 135 operator under TIAA-977, can fly directly into MUHA with the appropriate Cuban civil aviation permission and handling-agent coordination — both of which we arrange as part of the trip.

Demand is concentrated in a few buckets: cultural tourism (Old Havana, the music and gastronomy scene), business inquiries from non-U.S. interests exploring the Cuban market, and the diplomatic and journalism community. The Lear 60 covers the 290-nautical-mile leg in 50 minutes — closer than Nassau to Miami, in flight time.

Note: U.S. citizens are subject to OFAC regulations on Cuba travel. We operate the aircraft; the client is responsible for ensuring their own travel complies with applicable U.S. or other home-country regulations. We can refer to specialist counsel on request.

Airport & FBO

José Martí International (MUHA) in Havana is the standard arrival. Cuban civil aviation handles biz aviation through dedicated arrangements; the handling agent we coordinate with manages on-field customs, immigration, and ground transport for the trip. The transfer to Old Havana is 25 minutes; to the Miramar/Vedado diplomatic district 15 minutes.

Trip permits and overflight clearances are filed in advance — typically a minimum 72-hour lead time, though our handling network can often move faster on a known-client basis. We coordinate the entire process end-to-end: permit, handling, ground, fuel, and any onward Cuban-domestic lift if requested.

On the Nassau end, all flights operate out of MYNN. Bahamian customs and immigration on departure handled at MYNN; Cuban immigration at MUHA on arrival, with the handling agent walking the passenger and bags through.
